A vehicle parked dangerously on the Veteran’s Memorial Highway drew the attention of RCMP and led to a charge against a 38-year-old woman.
RCMP were contacted just after midnight Monday about a vehicle which had run out of gas and was partially blocking the busy highway near Glover Road.
When officers approached the vehicle, they noticed that the driver was showing signs of impairment.
The Carbonear woman was asked to provide a breath sample, but she refused and she was taken into custody.
RCMP impounded the woman’s vehicle, and her licence was suspended. She’s set to appear in court in November on a charge of refusal.
