A 90-year-old man is feeling much better after his assailant turned himself in to RNC.
A 28-year-old man turned himself in to the RNC yesterday evening claiming responsibility for assaulting 90-year-old Bill Short on Thursday in Mount Pearl.
Short’s niece Racquel Short Holwell says that his physical injuries are limited to bruises and a cut, but it is the psychological injuries that hurt the most.
Holwell says Mr. Short went home and turned his phone off so he could not be reached. She says that not being able to escape his assailant must have damaged her uncle’s mental security.
But Holwell says that her uncle is doing much better knowing the man turned himself in.
It is still unclear what unfolded or why Short was pulled over, but Holwell says that it’s a relief to see justice served.
She says she is happy that he turned himself in, and hopes he has learned from his mistakes.
There is currently no word whether charges will be laid, RNC say they will provide more information as the investigation continues.
