Canadian Coast Guard’s Newest Search and Rescue Lifeboat Christened in Corner Brook

The Christening of the Groswater Bay in Corner Brook (Canadian Coast Guard)

The Canadian Coast Guard welcomed a new search and rescue lifeboat to its fleet in a ceremony held in Corner Brook.

MP for Labrador Philip Earle was on hand yesterday, representing National Defence Minister David McGuinty for the official dedication of the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Groswater Bay.

It’s the latest addition to the fleet, which will see the construction and delivery of 20 new lifeboat vessels.
