The provincial government expects to see a “trap house hotline” to be up and running in the foreseeable future.
Earlier this year, the CEO of NL Housing indicated that a ‘trap house’ report hotline was being set up to allow the public to report problem properties.
‘Trap houses’ typically cause a disruption for surrounding residents through criminal and drug activity, violence and garbage.
St. John’s West MHA Keith White asked for an update from the minister responsible for NL Housing, Chris Tibbs.
Minister Tibbs says that hotline will be up and running as promised, and officials are “still going through some agreements” to get it operational.
“We’re going to make sure that that hotline and other supports that the people of this province need are in place.”
