Police are still trying to piece together information after trick or treating in Labrador took on a dark and sinister overtone.
RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay received three reports Sunday morning of small metal items being found in treat-sized Coffee Crisp bars collected Halloween night.
Police say adults and other trusted persons in the household should check treats thoroughly to ensure they are safe to eat. That means looking for signs of tampering as well as manufacturing defects, and making sure that the packaging is intact and that the treats are a recognizable trusted commercial brand.
They’re still trying to determine from where the treats originated.
Anyone who has information is asked to call 709-896-3383 or 1-800-709-RCMP (7267.)
