Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he’s all for ditching the twice-yearly time change, but he won’t be making a decision until many other jurisdictions are on the same page.
Premier Tony Wakeham has indicated that a change in this province would depend heavily on what Ontario decides to do, simply because we have so many business ties.
Ford says he’s not making any “willy nilly” decisions – he’s only willing to entertain the idea if Quebec and New York are also on board.
His understanding is that the Quebec premier is going to take some time to do his homework before making any decisions on scrapping the twice-yearly clock change.
Ford says he’s easy going but he wants Quebec, New York and the eastern corridor of the U.S. to be on the same page.
Ford plans to talk with the Quebec premier about the clock change in the coming weeks.
