The Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador (EDFNL) has received $7,500 to provide Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) training sessions.
Bell Let’s Talk handed over a cheque from their Community Fund to the Eating Disorder Foundation to offer more training sessions to people on top of the 550 family members and healthcare professionals who have already participated since January, 2017.

Emotion Focused Family Therapy is a resource for parents, caregivers, healthcare and other professionals who are working with people struggling with an eating disorder or other mental illness.
It’s an evidence-based approach to empower parents and others with specific skills to be effective in their roles during the recovery journey.
Executive Director of EDFNL, Paul Thomey says eating disorders are a serious mental illness that impact the entire family, and thanks to the support from Bell Let’s Talk they can continue to support the families and caregivers of people dealing with an eating disorder on their journey to recovery.
