The Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation says leadership and social responsibility define how they operate.
The NLC handed out its annual leadership awards yesterday, which are designed and created by members of the arts community.
Executive with the corporation, Sean Ryan says the awards identify people and organizations in the community who go above and beyond the norm, when it comes to social responsibility.
He says it’s about showing real leadership in the community—whether it’s helping someone else, or a great initiative that exemplifies those values.

NLC Board Chair Wayne Myles says when most people think about the NLC, they tend to envision distribution and money-making as its focus. However, Myles says being socially-responsible is a priority for the company, in terms of how they distribute product, how they help people be responsible with their consumption, and other efforts.
