A major thoroughfare in the capital city saw significant delays this afternoon following two collisions in a relatively close stretch in a short period of time.
Crews were called to Freshwater Road near the Royal Bank location shortly after noon. It appears a vehicle was struck by another, while pulling out of a parking lot in the area.
There were no serious injuries to report in that collision.

Then, at around 1:15 p.m., first responders were called to another collision on the corner of Freshwater Road and Oxen Pond Road.
Two vehicles collided near the corner, trapping the driver of a van inside the vehicle. The jaws of life were broken out to help free the driver, who then received treatment from paramedics.
