Premier Dwight Ball rejected calls in the House of Assembly today for the minister who had Carla Foote hired by The Rooms to be fired from cabinet.
The Premier is instead going to review the process of how executives are moved across government.

Minister Christopher Mitchelmore came under fire again today following a report by the Citizen’s Representative, which found that he violated process when Foote was hand-picked for the $130,000 a year position with no job competition.
In fact, the controversy took up the entire Question Period.

Ball says Mitchelmore is a hard-working minister and that his forthcoming apology will suffice. He acknowledged in the House that the hiring was not done perfectly, but then proceeded to sing the praises of Carla Foote and would have nothing to do with opening up the position to a competition.
The Opposition also charged that someone in government ordered executives at the Rooms to delete telling emails.
