You wouldn’t want to be competing with the RNC’s K9 unit in a chase.
Officers decided to clock police dog Avalon using a hand-held lidar. In a video posted to twitter, the dog can be seen sprinting across an empty lot at up to 49 km/h.
For #K9Thursday Avalon wanted to flaunt his speeds to his Mounted Unit pals from Monday’s post! While Castle’s speeds were impressive, they’re no match for Avalon, who recorded 49 km/hr on the lidar. Wouldn’t want to be in a foot race with him. 😬 #K9 #RNCPSD #Avalon #GoodBoy pic.twitter.com/iMKgU5vJLt

The post was in response to a video from the RNC Mounted Unit, which clocked Cst. Jason Coombs riding police horse Castle at as fast as 42 km.
For #MountedUnitMonday we had some fun horsing around with Castle and Cst. Coombs. Check out the video to see how fast we clocked Castle on our radar! 🐎 pic.twitter.com/KsxM3ElneL
