A man already with one outstanding impaired charge against him now has another after police chased him through the woods.
RCMP saw a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on the parking lot of Pearce Junior High School in Burin in the wee hours of Thursday morning. When the officer pulled into the parking lot, the driver ran from the car and into nearby woods.
Police caught up with him and arrested him. He was issued a driving suspension and his vehicle was seized.
The 19-year-old, who is from Brookside, has been released from custody to appear in court at a later date.
It was the fifth impaired driver that police on the Burin Peninsula have caught in the last 12 days.
