Recruiting and retaining volunteers for organized sports remains a challenge.
That’s according to the Executive Director of Sport NL, Troy Croft.
Croft says while many parents are happy to volunteer when their child is participating in a sport, it’s more challenging to get people involved year-round and for the longer-term.
He says while it’s not that hard to find volunteers for special events, the challenge is in getting people to sit on boards or executives to help run the organization.
