Merasheen Oyster Farm Ltd. says Newfoundland and Labrador waters will make for oysters that are tastier than others.
President and CEO, Juan Roberts says they are looking forward to the process of spawning NL oysters and bringing them to the farm in Placentia Bay.
The process started 10 years ago and Roberts says it takes time to get everything operating just right.
He says in his opinion, they are better than other oysters he has tried because they are saltier and sweeter.
The first oysters cultivated in Newfoundland and Labrador are being tasted today at Mallard Cottage and will be sold tonight at @AdelaideOyster.
