A party that has been taking place for 28 years has been bringing joy to families during the holidays, and this year is no different.
More than one hundred women and members of the Regional Firefighters Association went to Sheilagh Guy Murphy’s home with gifts to be donated to The VOCM Happy Tree and The Salvation Army.
Guy Murphy says she is overwhelmed by the generosity in the community.
The very first party was a small get together with women who brought gifts. Guy Murphy says a few years later she found out the Firefighters Association was also donating so she invited them along.
Guy Murphy says the event has grown, and she hopes it will keep growing.
Some of the women are now bringing their daughters and granddaughters to the party. Guy Murphy hopes the new generations will carry over the tradition.
