The Sierra Club of Canada is trumpeting the birth of an endangered North Atlantic right whale calf off the continent’s east coast.
The cow and newborn calf were spotted off the coast of Georgia earlier this week.
It’s the first calf for the 14-year-old mother – only known as #3560. There are four expectant mothers currently being monitored by various conservation agencies.
While the birth is being celebrated, the birth rate needs to increase dramatically according to the Sierra Club.
