A fire fighter from Corner Brook says the danger has passed for the moment, but the battle continues against wildfires in Australia.
Joe Russell is running logistics in New South Wales for the massive fires that are still out of control in the region.
Russell is one of dozens of Canadian fire fighters who gave up their holidays at home to help fight the fires. He describes the scene in the area of Wollemi National Park, saying the fire is still out of control at around 500-thousand hectares with around 1,500 of fire front.
That said, in the last few days the fire has ease somewhat and there is no longer an immediate threat to properties or structures.
