The second phase of construction on Kenmount Road wrapped up late last month, and we can expect to see much of the same approach used for Phase Three in the new year.
That’s from Sandy Hickman, the council lead for traffic in St. John’s.
He says the latest phase of construction went much better than in 2018, and that they received many positive comments from surrounding businesses about the overall effects on their operations.

Hickman notes that the work is critical, as it’s replacing aging storm sewer infrastructure.
The city’s strategy will be largely the same in 2020, as Hickman indicates things went “…as well as we possibly could do it” in terms of traffic control and timing. They will be following the same practices for the next phase of the project.
Phase Three is slated to begin sometime in the spring, and will cover an area from Peet Street to Pippy Place.
