A St. John’s man says a snow plow caused debris from the road to crash through a window in his house on Christmas Day.
Roy Evans was sitting on the couch of his Thorburn Road home a little before noon when he heard a sudden loud noise.

Evans initially thought a car must have crashed into his house when he heard the loud ‘bang.’ However, he determined it was a plow when he saw a wave of slush whiz past his window, and a blur of the machine driving down the road.
He called 311 to report the incident, and confirmed that there was in fact damage to his home.

Evans says his house is often covered by slush and snow during the winter because of its proximity to the road, but this was the first time it had done any extensive damage.
Although his window is currently boarded up, Evans stated that his main concern is for the safety of both pedestrians and his tenants upstairs—as he believes the plows need to slow down.
