As the rush of the Salvation Army holiday campaigns start to filter out, the group gears up for a big year in 2020.
The new Centre for Hope, currently under construction in Downtown St. John’s, is about 70 per cent complete.
Major Rene Loveless with the Salvation Army says they are looking forward to its completion and will be continuing their programming and services on Springdale Street, just as they have for over 100 years.
Loveless added their programming will receive an “incredible boost” from the centre that will reach across the entire province.
Loveless says the Ches Penney Centre for Hope was a big undertaking with many folks joining them on the journey.
Loveless described how everyone involved is excited to see the concept become a reality and he is tremendously thankful for the outpouring of support the Salvation Amy received bringing the centre to fruition.
