A man from Sheshatshiu is facing a slew of charges after stealing an ambulance and crashing it early yesterday morning.
At 12:30 a.m. police received a call of a stolen ambulance in the community.
First responders were tending to a situation at a residence when a man from inside the home stole the vehicle.
RCMP located the ambulance speeding down a roadway and attempted to pull the man over, but to no avail. He then lost control of the vehicle and crashed it into a snowbank.
Police arrested the 35-year-old driver and found that he had been drinking. He is now facing a slew of charges including theft of a motor vehicle, impaired driving, dangerous driving and flight from police.
He is scheduled to appear in court February 24th.
