As much as 25 cm of snow is possible in some areas Wednesday as a new weather system moves in. This following the major snowstorm that shut down the eastern part of the island on Monday.
Jody Boyd of the Gander weather office of Environment Canada says with the mix of snow and rain, southeastern areas should expect around 10 cm accumulation, but for parts further west, expect 15-25 cm.
He says the snow moves into the southern areas in the afternoon Wednesday and then moves north.
For the Avalon, Burin and perhaps Bonavista snow changes to rain around midnight, but back to snow by Thursday morning.
