Two residents of Happy Valley-Goose Bay are facing charges following an unusual traffic stop in the town earlier this month.
RCMP patrol officers attempted to pull over a truck on the evening of January 8th, but the vehicle failed to stop and sped off instead.
The truck was eventually located and police attempted to block it from leaving the scene.
The 31 year old female driver locked the doors, refusing to get out. Police eventually had to break the window to remove her after repeated warnings.
RCMP say a 37-year-old man, who was under a number of court ordered restrictions, was found inside the truck trying to hide.
The woman was released to appear in court in February on a charge of flight from police. The man was remanded to appear in court January 15th. He’s facing weapons charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle and a number of breaches of court orders.
