Two people remain in hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Mount Pearl last night.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., a man and woman were struck by a car travelling southbound near the intersection of Drive. The force of the collision caused significant damage to the windshield of the car.
Both pedestrians were sent to hospital, with the woman suffering what are believed to be serious injuries.
The RNC closed a small section of Commonwealth Avenue for a period of time.
The investigation continues.
Meanwhile, there were no serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Ruth Ave and Old Placentia Road shortly after 6:00 p.m. A minivan and car both suffered significant damage after colliding in the intersection. There were no serious injuries reported, however a young child, who was an occupant of the minivan, was taken to hospital as a precaution.
