Partnerships are the key to developing affordable housing in municipalities.
That’s from Sheilagh O’leary, the city of St. John’s lead on housing.
O’leary says finding an affordable place to live is something that is broad reaching across all levels of government and organizations, and is something that needs a collaborative approach.
She points to the proposed project with Habitat for Humanity to develop the land at the Eric Street Community Garden as an example. According to O’leary, we can expect to see more partnerships like that one in the future.
