BeaverTails has packed up and left the Bannerman Park Loop and the City of St. John’s is looking for a new way to fill the space.
Peak seasons for Bannerman Park are Winter and Summer leaving the shoulder seasons a rough time to be in business. That seems to be the reason why Beavertails has left the loop.
Counselor Jamie Korab says the space has a lot of potential and they will be looking for expressions of interest in coming weeks.
He says they have creative people in St. John’s and there has been some great businesses opening up so they are excited to be in the position to line up something with a great opportunity in the space.
The Loop has become a space to bring the community together and Korab says it is used by people young and old.
He says it is one of the jewels of the community and it is highly used. At the New Year’s Eve Skating Party about 3,000 people showed up to use it.
