The Newfoundland Growlers are etching themselves into history with an impressive winning streak on home ice.
Last night the Growlers scored a decisive 7-1 win over the Kansas City Mavericks, extending their home winning streak to 16 and their overall win streak to 11.
With that win, the Growlers now have the third longest home winning streak in ECHL history.
The team needs three more wins to break the all-time record of 18 wins set by the South Carolina Stingrays during the 1994-1995 season.
It will be a while before the Growlers are back on home ice, however. The team is on a break for the ECHL All-Star Classic, and their next game is on the road against the Reading Royals next Friday. The next home game for the team is January 31st against the Brampton Beast.
