A special fundraiser is taking place today in support of sick children in the province.
The third annual Ricky Dalton and Friends Janeway Fundraiser is taking place today at O’Reilly’s Pub.
At the age of two weeks old, Dalton was diagnosed with neuroblastoma of the liver and spleen. Dalton beat the disease, but spent a lot of time in the Janeway as a child. He started the fundraiser in 2018 as a way to give back.
Spokesperson for the event, Gillian Edwards, says they are looking to duplicate the success of previous year’s events.
The first year they raised over $2,100 and the second year they raised over $4,000. They are hoping for similar success this year.
The event is taking place from at O’Rielly’s Pub until 10 p.m. tonight, and features many musical acts such as the Kilkenny Krew and the Fine Lads.
