The metro region is returning to some sense of normalcy today after the big storm.
St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen says since there will be more traffic, he stresses that people need to slow down, take your time and be aware of pedestrians on the road.
He states the 24-hour parking ban is still in effect outside of downtown while crews, including from outside of the metro region, help with the snow clearing efforts.
Mayor Breen says they are continuing on residential streets with all their equipment out including 20 plus snow blowers. He says it will take some time to get all streets done but they are making progress.
He notes they are encountering some issues with equipment breaking down as they are being continuously ran, which is causing some slowdowns.
