All schools in the St. John’s metro region are reopening today after a major winter storm (dubbed Snowmageddon on social media) forced an eight day State of Emergency in the capital city.
All k-12 schools will be open this morning for all students an staff.
The school district says the decision to reopen was made in consultation with municipalities but some adjustments have been made to bus routes because of ongoing snow clearing efforts in certain neighbourhoods.
Students are asked to be at the bus stop 10 minutes ahead of their normal schedule because of those changes. The bus route changes will remain in effect until Friday, January 31 with an update by the end of the week.
