The usually raucous crowd at Mile on Centre fell silent last night in tribute to a fallen basketball legend.
Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter were among the nine people tragically killed in a helicopter crash over the weekend.
The team held a moment of silence for the fallen basketball star, totaling 24 seconds in honour of the number he wore with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Alex Dawe was one the fans in attendance at the game. He says he has never been as emotionally distraught over a celebrity death as he was with Bryant’s.
Dawe calls Bryant an inspiration, and notes that when he used to coach basketball he would always point Bryant out to the kids as a role model.
