The province’s Muslim community is joining those across the country in remembering the victims of the Quebec City Mosque shooting which took place three years ago today.
The province as a whole is being encouraged to join the Green Square Campaign, a nationwide initiative, as an expression of solidarity with the families of the victims and survivors.
The campaign involves wearing green squares, and sharing them through social media.
The effects of January 17’s major blizzard are still being felt in the metro region and for that reason the local Masjid-an-Noor Mosque on Logy Bay Road is not hosting a formal memorial service this year to mark the tragic event.
