How big an effort has been put into the capital city’s cleanup following the January 17 storm? Well, the City of St. John’s has released some statistics to show just how monumental the snow clearing effort has been.
Approximately 16,000 dump truck loads of snow have been removed from city streets.
Where to put all that snow!? The line of City dump trucks to the harbour is steady today. @590VOCM @Fred_Hutton #nltraffic #nlwx pic.twitter.com/iBglLRU6or

The capital city is still cleaning and widening streets and sidewalks following the record-breaking dumping earlier this month.
The city says as of today, approximately 20 blowers are in use with 100 trucks available at peak.
About 98 per cent of all streets are widened to two-way traffic, 60 per cent of sidewalks are cleared of snow, and all of the city’s 3,400 hydrants are cleared.
