A conference is being held in St. John’s next week focusing on the fiscal reality facing the province.
The provincial government is remaining tight-lipped on Budget 2020 thus far and what it might entail.
However, in the fall fiscal update it was revealed that, taking away money from the Atlantic Accord, the province’s deficit has grown to almost a billion dollars.
Speaking on VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly, Dr. Wade Locke says the conference, “Reasonable Solutions to Newfoundland’s Fiscal Reality” will look at the situation in a more positive light. It will look at ways to move forward without pointing blame or getting caught up in grim details.
