Bay St. George RCMP are reminding young people not to accept rides from strangers following a report received earlier this month.
The RCMP says a young girl reported that while walking to school on Hospital Road in Stephenville Crossing, a grey car pulled over beside her and the driver asked if she wanted a ride to school. The girl did not know the driver and later informed her parents, who then reported the incident to police.
Police are asking anyone who may have further information about this incident, or who may have witnessed similar suspicious activity to contact the detachment (709-643-2118) or Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-8477).
