The City of St. John’s is taking advantage of the amounts of snow with their annual Chill Fest.
Starting today, there are plans for outdoor and indoor activities to celebrate winter and community. Ward 3 City Counselor, Jamie Korab, says the events are a great way to get the whole family out for free fun.
Events include skiing and snow shoeing at Pippy Park and Bowring Park, skating at Bannerman Park and a movie at Cineplex Avalon Mall. The whole week will end off with a traditional Newfoundland kitchen party.
Korab reminds people to remember their reusable mugs when attending outdoor activities for free hot chocolate.
He says there is things to do in the city if people go looking for it and these events are a wonderful way to showcase all the facilities and resources available. Korab says that it is refreshing to see some positivity around snow.
