A man who dedicated his life and expertise to the province’s history and culture will be recognized posthumously next week by the Newfoundland and Labrador Historical Society.
The 2020 Heritage Award will be presented to Larry Dohey who died suddenly in August.

Dohey was a past president of the Historical Society, and as outlined in a statement following his untimely passing; “contributed to the preservation of NL history and heritage in immeasurable ways.”
Dohey was also the co-host of VOCM’s popular Archival Moments.
A ceremony is scheduled for Monday afternoon at 2:30 at Government House. Dohey’s husband Ian Martin will accept the award on his behalf.
