After helping hand from other pet lovers, permission from homeowners in the area and the donation of a fence, rescuers had all the tools they needed to bring Zoe the Dog home.
The search was reignited in December after trail cameras caught images of Zoe near Brigus Junction.
Two months, and two major snowstorms later, all efforts finally paid off.
A leader in the rescue effort, Jackie McCormack, says they tracked the dog using trail cameras, and, after tracking her movements for weeks, managed to safely lure the her into a cage.
McCormack says she sat in the vehicle for two hours before she could finally pull the rope to drop the door for the cage, capturing the dog. She then called her owners—Rebecca Curlew and Peter Vaters—and told them to “come get their baby.”
Much to the excitement of those following updates on the search, Zoe is now happily home with her owners. They offered a heartfelt thanks to those who had a hand in bringing their beloved pooch home.
