The Consumer Group for Fair Gas Prices expects to see the Public Utilities Board invoke a rarely-used clause tonight. It’s called “extraordinary circumstances,” and George Murphy expects the board to jump in now rather than wait until midnight Wednesday.

Murphy’s numbers show a drop of 13.5 cents a litre come midnight.
The price went down 5.5 cents yesterday, but other provinces—which do not have a regulated fuel pricing system in place—posted much larger declines.
