The federal government is closing the country’s borders to people who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the announcement this afternoon.
Designated exceptions include air crews, diplomats, immediate family members of Canadian citizens and US citizens.
Airlines will be given the ability to ban all passengers who show signs of illness.
Anyone with symptoms will not be able to enter Canada.
