The timelines set by the Jordan ruling should not jeopardize court cases, trials and bail hearings postponed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trials and court appearances will go ahead for those held in custody and urgent matters will still be heard.
The Department of Justice says in unforeseen circumstances, like those surrounding COVID-19 which are not the fault of either party, the timelines set of by the Jordan Ruling do not apply.
The department says scheduling will be considered between counsel and the court when cases are recalled.
