A 19-year-old man has been arrested following an armed robbery on the province’s west coast.

Corner Brook RNC were called to a business in the Curling area of the city just before 9:30 last night.

Police say the man brandished a weapon and demanded cash and cigarettes.

The suspect fled the scene but was arrested a short time later.

He is facing charges of armed robbery, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, disguise with intent, and breach of court orders.

The man will appear in court today.
