St. John’s East MP Jack Harris has cancer, but he says the prognosis is good.
A lump on his neck has proven to be cancerous, but Harris says it was detected and diagnosed early. He is following doctors’ advice and says they have every confidence in the treatment plan. However, he will have to avoid public appearances and participation in community events for the next number of weeks.

Harris will be working from home to avoid infection.
The St. John’s East constituency office remains open to continue to assist constituents by telephone and e-mail but is closed to walk-in visits.
