St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen says City Hall has shut down as of 4 p.m.
If you need to interact with city employees, you may have to answer screening questions by calling 311 before proceeding.
If you need to pay taxes, you will have to do so through a bank or by mail. Parking permits that expire in March will be automatically renewed until the end of April.

Parking will still be enforced, and the overnight parking ban outside the downtown remains in effect.
Garbage collection will continue, however recycling is still suspended for two weeks. Residential drop-off at the landfill is open.
The City is reviewing residential and business taxes at this time.
Most city staff are working from home, and will continue to be paid. Along with casual and temporary employees, they will be paid until April 4, at which point a review will take place.
Residents can contact the City through 311 or email through access@stjohns.ca
