More strict regulations have come down in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Premier Dwight Ball on Friday announced that anyone returning from outside of the province will be required to quarantine for 14-days.
That includes international travel, and those arriving from another province. Ball says they will do everything within their power to implement the strictest screening measures possible to protect Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.
Ball says that includes implementing health assessment forms to be completed upon entry to the province.
Further, he says understanding the province will require a flow of goods – things like groceries, household supplies, and medical supplies – government will work extremely closely with Marine Atlantic, Oceanex and trucking companies to make sure proper measures are in place to receive those goods.
That includes those returning from offshore.
The Premier says further action will be taken in the coming days. He says they must act now, and they’re looking at implementing any and all measures to protect the people of the province.
He claims that many times the province’s geography has been a disadvantage, but there are advantages in this particular case, including remote Labrador.
