There are three new cases of COVID-19 in Newfoundland and Labrador bringing the province’s total to nine. Three cases are confirmed and six are presumptive.
The three new cases are women in the Eastern Health Region. Two of the cases are due to travel, the third is under investigation.
As of today 970 people have been tested, 961 of those tested are confirmed negative.
Premier Ball says all nine-confirmed cases are all recovering from home and not in the hospital.
He says it is still important to follow all of the strict measures in place.
Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald provided an update this afternoon. She stressed that if you are feeling unwell you must stay home.
Dr. Fitzgerald says she is unaware of any community spread.
Meanwhile, Premier Dwight Ball announces more measures including one to help students.
Effective March 30th, provincial payments portion of student loans will be suspended until September 30th.
There will be no interest accrued over that time.
