There’s a storm coming for some parts of the island, and it’s going to be a rough one.
Virtually all parts of the island will see some of the white stuff but eastern and southern areas will bear the brunt. Compounding matters will be winds gusting to 90 to 100 km/h.
Dale Foote, a meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, says it’s forming off Cape Cod and will hit the Avalon Peninsula, Burin Peninsula and the Clarenville area the hardest.
Snow develops late on Tuesday, and is expected to continue until mid-day Wednesday.
He expects to see about 30 centimetres for most of the Avalon—including metro—and 20 centimetres for the Marystown and Clarenville areas.
