The capital city is expanding the closure of city facilities in light of the COVID-19 pandemic—effective immediately.
Late last week, the city closed all playgrounds to help control the spread of the dreaded illness. Now they’re taking it further.
All city parks, ball fields, skate parks and hard surface courts, and all dog parks are now closed to the public. The closure does not affect open spaces or trails running through open spaces.
Meanwhile, the city will not be issuing tickets to vehicles with expired parking permits, provided the permits on display are for the same area. Residents will have an opportunity to renew their 2020 permits when city hall reopens.
