Health Minister John Haggie is calling a video circulating on social media “malicious” and “unforgivable.”

Minister Haggie came out swinging today following the circulation of a video purporting to show passengers on a flight arriving at YYT to an empty terminal building with no screening in place.

Haggie called the video “malicious” and “deliberate,” saying what it didn’t show was the fact that the flight in question was a domestic, in-province flight.

He didn’t mince his words as to what he thought about the video and the effect it created.

He told reporters it undermined public confidence, and had a demoralizing impact on Eastern Health staff who spent the entire day in the baggage hold meeting flights. He cannot fathom why anyone would do that. He calls it “malicious” and “unforgivable.”
