The capital city is planning a virtual event this weekend to help show essential workers some thanks.
The City of St. John’s is hosting a virtual city-wide celebration Sunday evening at 7:00 to thank essential workers, from grocery store clerks to truck drivers to health care staff for the work they’re doing at a very difficult time.

You can take part by making some noise from your doorstep, putting up messages and pictures in your windows, and watching the broadcast live on the City of St. John’s Facebook and Twitter feeds.
Mayor Danny Breen says ships in the harbour will be blowing their horns at 7 p.m. on Sunday for many residents to hear.
He’s encouraging people to put pictures up in their windows and put out their Christmas lights and reach out in safe ways that will mean something to essential workers.
In these challenging times, we want to thank those who are working to keep essential services operating.
Join us for a virtual, city-wide celebration of essential workers on Sunday, March 29 at 7pm.
